Current Concepts in Periodontal Disease & Therapy

Periodontal disease is the most common condition in small animal practice.  This lecture will cover proper diagnosis and therapeutic options for periodontal disease.  Subject matter to include:  performing a thorough dental prophylaxis (supra and subgingival cleaning, polishing, sulcal lavage, fluoride treatment, recognition of dental pathology, periodontal probing, and dental charting), treatment of pathologic pockets (closed root planing and local antimicrobial therapies), as well as homecare.  Finally, this lecture will introduce more advanced periodontal therapies.
