Non-human primates are used extensively in biomedical research and also kept as pets. Their anesthesia is a balance of small animal and human techniques and require special safety considerations for all involved. This lecture will focus on the anatomical and physiological considerations, as well as pharmacological variances among primate species important to the anesthetist.
