Beginner Ultrasound Pre-Lab Lecture

This introductory session will focus on the “Big 5”. This group of organs includes the Liver, Gallbladder, Spleen, Kidneys and Urinary bladder. Each organ has easy portions and difficult regions to image. Techniques to efficiently image each organ entirely will be discussed. Common pathology topics will be introduced. Basic differential diagnoses will be discussed. We will discuss the basic exam pathway and techniques to increase your efficiency in the learning process.Introduction to the intermediate organs will be discussed.

Mark Howes DVM, DACVR

Dr. Mark Howes is a second generation veterinarian who was inspired to follow in his father’s footsteps after watching his father help families in his hometown with their pets and livestock. He saw first-hand how important it was to be a veterinarian and wanted to help both people and animals. He was a general practitioner for 21 years including 13 years as the owner of Berglund Animal Hospital in Evanston.
